Tale

Location : SiSi server, System Tammolen (Later moved to C-6)

Findings:

1. Initially it was felt that a suicide gank in Battleships would be the most effective way of bring the target down. Hindered by 5000m non-detonation of smartbombs within that range of a station meant a change of tactic to Blaster fit BS's.

2. We determined that there is a gap / lag in time when undocking from the station that we might be able to play to our advantage. Once a pilot undocks it can take 17 seconds for "space" to appear. For those waiting outside, the pilot appears within 12 seconds of announcing their undocking, thus we may have 5 valuable seconds with which to lock up the target before they realise it.

3. Art showed us all the "moveme" channel and feature in Sisi, which allowed us all to be instantly transported from Tammolen to C-6 to avoid taking any further standing hits. This is a cool as fuck aspect to Sisi. Nice one Art. Note to selves, make sure your clone is up to date in C-6....and get familiar with the protocol for the system regarding aggressive activities.

4. The BS setup we chose is as follows (NB most of us were flying Maegthrons so this fit is relating to their 7-4-7 config).

Hi Slots - 7 Tech 2 Blasters with appropriate T2 Ammo
Mid Slots - 3 T2 Sensor Boosters (with scripts) + 1 Remote Sensor Booster II
Low Slots - 3 Magnetic Stabilizers II's + 3 Targeting Computer II's

We found the lock times to be in and around 4 secs and with 4 BS's on Matty's Cynobal the actual takedown time was about 7 secs. The 3 Sensor Boosters were a big help to our BS's lock times and we Spider Boosted each other with the Remote Sensor Booster for a bonus speed locking time. N.B. The target is no fool, as previously mentioned, so in all likelihood she will have a "set of eyes" outside station before undocking. The sight of 5 BS's with pulsing Sensor Boosters and remote boosting each other will probably look suspicious (said with tongue firmly in cheek) so we should keep a close eye on her Tranquillity movements and see if there is a more appropriate ambush spot.

5 We are still left with the ALL IMPORTANT issue of the Pod take-down, with out that, all this is for shit. Please see Matty Groves recent in-game mail called Notes on Targeting and lets hear your thoughts on that.
